Before you convert
Check what you have: a CII invoice (version D22B) or a UBL 2.1 invoice, as an XML file. A Factur-X PDF carries its CII file inside; the converter works on the XML, not on the PDF. Keep the original file. A conversion is a copy.

What to compare afterwards
Totals: net, VAT and gross amounts, and the amount due. They must be identical. Currency, and the VAT accounting currency if there is one. Lines: the same number of lines, the same quantities, unit prices and VAT rates. Parties: names, addresses, VAT numbers and legal identifiers (SIREN, SIRET...) with their scheme. Payment: payment means code, IBAN, due date and payment terms. References: invoice number, dates, purchase order and contract references. Specification identifier (BT-24) and business process (BT-23): the platform that receives the invoice may require a particular value. Notes and attachments.
What may differ
Details that go beyond EN 16931, such as the additional fields of the EXTENDED and EXTENDED-CTC-FR profiles, may have no equivalent in the other syntax. Rules that depend on a country or a platform, such as the French rules, are not applied by the converter. Automatic validation is coming soon, so check the result with your own validator. The order of the elements and their prefixes change. That is normal.
